The Triage team in Cardiff have just had their best set of results since the project launched in 2010. 0% re-offending for the first quarter of 2014. This translates to none of the 47 young people who the team worked with in Cardiff went on to re-offend in the first quarter. This means that children, young people, their families and their victims have all been a little safer over the first three months of 2014.
Sam Heatley, Manager of the Triage programme said, "The team work tirelessly to be innovative and to respond to the often complex needs of children and young people who are at risk of offending. Working in partnership with Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan councils we have been able to challenge behaviours and thinking of young people and support them to make better, safer choices. We are not complacent however, we are aware that the needs of individuals and families vary greatly so we must continue to shape the service by being able to respond to these needs appropriately and speedily".
